Latest Xtralite AOV On The Market Tops The Leader Board For Quality And Innovation

The latest Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) to be launched by Xtralite, is set to give specifiers and installers a quality new option balancing safety, access and natural ventilation requirements.

The glass, polycarbonate or solid lid AOV, opens automatically on smoke detection and can also be operated manually, meaning natural ventilation can now be enjoyed by this versatile AOV.   It also offers a concealed motor and wiring providing a clear unobstructed view and making escape simple and safe should the need arise.

“We are market leaders for our rooflight technology and product range and seek new ways of enhancing products to give our specifiers, installers and end users just what they need,” said Jim Lowther, Sales Director, Xtralite. “As always, the aesthetics and practicalities are succinctly portrayed in the new product range giving options to our customers so that they can specify a product that is entirely suitable for smoke ventilation, access and natural ventilation.”

The updated range, which incorporates glass, polycarbonate glazing and solid lid options, is electric and opens upon detection of smoke or is fully controllable through the Building Management System, giving building users and managers reassurance and peace of mind. Furthermore, it has been fully tested in all configuration and certified to EN 12101 – 2:2003 as a legal requirement under the Construction Products Regulation 2013, to support natural ventilation and access.

“All our AOVs have been designed to allow safe and easy access to a roof space but this enhanced specification rooflight now combines the practicality of necessary access to a roof for inspection or maintenance, the safety aspect of escape where needed, and the building comfort aspect of natural ventilation to regulate temperature, or merely reap the health benefits of fresh air,” said Jim. “Specifiers are now able to embrace the credentials of this latest AOV which supports essential requirements in both domestic and commercial applications keeping buildings and people safe conforming to Part L of the Building Regulations, and Part B which pertains to fire safety.”

To supplement the AOV rooflights Xtralite also offers a series of compatible control panels and sensors further aiding simplistic specification. The AOV also delivers a ‘future proofing’ aspect as it already meets the necessary requirements surrounding proposed changes to legislation.
