Overview

The Xtralite modular rooflights range includes a broad selection of options to create the most comprehensive selection available from a single manufacturer. All are manufactured at our factory in Blyth, Northumberland and dispatched direct to site from our own dedicated distribution centre.

To ensure consistent availability and rapid delivery, we maintain stocks of the most popular sizes at our distribution centre, but we are also highly experienced in manufacturing bespoke sized rooflights to customer-specific requirements.

Xtralite modular rooflights are manufactured based on our X-Range specifications, which have been developed over many years to meet the highest quality standards and to comply with or exceed the demands of Building Regulations.

X-Range rooflights options include:

  • Glazing - in polycarbonate, glass, hybrid and Dometec
  • Shapes and sizes - across the range you will find square, rectangular and circular footprints in a wide range of stock sizes.
  • Profiles - dependent on your choice of glazing material, choose from domes, pyramids and flat glass configurations.
  • Roof fixings - vertical and splayed options to fit any kerb or upstand.
  • Thermal performance - other than X-Five, which is intended for us in non-occupied areas only, all our X-Range rooflights will meet the requirements of Building Regulations, Part L. For superior performance our X-One rooflights can achieve a u-value as low as 1.0 W/m2K°.

X-One Range

This latest range from Xtralite, X-One represents the future of rooflights. X-One delivers an exceptionally low Ud value of 1.0W/m2k°, which surpasses the minimum requirements of Building Regulations, Part L.

Glazing

The glazing element of X-One is a hybrid combination of a double-glazed glass unit and a single skin polycarbonate dome.

The glass unit comprises a 6.4mm thick laminated inner pane with a 6mm toughened glass outer pane, and a 16mm argon-filled cavity. The double glazed unit is covered with the polycarbonate dome, or pyramid, which can be supplied in either clear or diffused polycarbonate.

The complete unit is attached to the upstand with tamper resistant fixings for added security.

It is also possible to select an ultra-high glass specification to reduce solar gain and rain noise whilst still retaining non-fragile status.

Contact Xtralite to discuss your specific requirements.

Ventilation

X-One is typically supplied with a choice of manually operated ventilation features

Rota Vents

Our unique Rota ventilation directs air flow upwards towards the glazing reducing the risk of condensation and preventing cold draughts, whilst resisting ‘in-blown’ roof debris and water ingress.

Hit and Miss Vents

These simple, manual vents provide low level, controllable ventilation for ‘background’ air changes.

Roof Attachment

Vertical or adaptor kerbs

X-One rooflights are Non Fragile – all Xtralite polycarbonate rooflights achieve Class B rating to ACR[M]001:2014

Fire Performance: BS 476 Pt7 – Class 1. TPa rated

Standard sizes and bespoke manufacture are available.

Thermal Performance

Fully thermally broken, as standard X-One rooflights comprise a double glazed glass unit with a 6.4mm thick laminated inner pane, a 6mm toughened upper pane, and a 16mm argon filled cavity. The unit is then covered with a single skin, clear or diffused, polycarbonate dome or pyramid and a unique double-walled vertical roof attachment, to achieve Ud value of 1.0W/m2

X-Two Range

This Xtralite X-Two range features many product innovations, including a unique suite of interchangeable PVCu extrusions designed to ensure both splayed and vertical kerbs are available to suit a precise height, enabling the kerb to be fixed directly to the roof deck, no matter what depth of insulation is required.

X-Two delivers an Ud value of 1.6W/m2k°, to comfortably surpass the requirements of Building Regulations, Part L.

Glazing

X-Two rooflights are available in either polycarbonate or glass options. Polycarbonate glazed units are supplied triple skin as standard in either dome or pyramids. Clear of diffused polycarbonate is available

Ventilation

X-Two can be supplied with a choice of ventilation options:

  • Rota Vents.
  • Hit and Miss Vents.
  • Worm Gear Opening Vents.
  • Electrical Chain Drive Ventilation.
  • Permanent Vent.

Roof Attachment

Xtralite has developed a unique mounting system to aod attachment of rooflights to the roof and to make the installation process much simpler.

X-Two rooflights are suitable for all popular roofing membranes and available with vertical, splayed and adaptor kerbs. X-Two vertical kerbs offer up to a 40% greater daylight area. Common features include a 2mm inner and outer kerb wall with a minimum 15mm air gap, and double gaskets between the glazing and the top of the kerb. The fixing chambers are drained to the outside of the building, with 60mm protection cover at the weather edge of the membrane.

X-Two rooflights are Non Fragile – all Xtralite polycarbonate rooflights achieve Class B rating to ACR[M]001:2014.

Glass options are available with a Class 2 "deemed to satisfy" specification in accordance with CWCT TN92.

Fire Performance: BS 476 Pt7 – Class 1. TPa rated

Both standard sizes and bespoke manufacture are available.

Thermal Insulation

Fully thermally broken, the standard X-Two configuration, glazed with triple skin polycarbonate, offers a Ud Value of 1.6W/m2
