Where required Xtralite supply a complete range of kerbs to support all the different shapes on offer and link to the majority of different roof systems and types.

Kerb Options

Galvanised steel and aluminium offer extreme flexibility in terms of height, shape and angle of splay.	Standard sizes only.	A major improvement on GRP.
Can be custom made to specific sizes.	Commonly used for circular units.	Standard height 237 mm.
Not recommended for use in a non-insulated form.	Supplied insulated as standard.	Easy to custom make to specific sizes.
Rarely used in domestic applications.	Often used in areas where high humidity is likely.	Cost effective custom designed risers are available for use with deep insulation to improve thermal performance.

		Good internal finishes.
		Most suitable for domestic or high-humidity situations.

Adapter Kerbs

Typically constructed in galvanised steel or aluminium and designed to fix on top of an existing kerb/upstand.

• Allow a standard size glazing unit to be fitted on a non-standard size kerb thereby delivering greater economies.
• Allows for the addition of many ventilation options including hinged ventilation and access.
• Manufactured to the exact dimensions of the existing kerb to save time and money on site.

	Anti-intrusion System

Builders Upstand

This is constructed, insulated and waterproofed by the builder. It should be at least 150 mm from finished roof level to top of the upstand. It must be capable of supporting the rooflight.

Anti-intrusion System

Burglar bars may be added to all rooflights in the Xtralite range. Xtrasecure is a fully framed “Anti-intrusion” system that is positioned between the upstand and the roof structure. The 3 mm diameter, solid steel fully welded mesh in a 75 mm grid, will resist entry even when the rooflight has been compromised (removed).
