Xtralite + Nanogel®

Xtralite Rooflights specialist glazing expertise, and the science of Nanogel, creates a unique solution to complete the first example of a Tesco store built using the company’s low carbon blueprint. Nanogel consists of silica-based granules that are placed between the rooflight glazing ‘skin’.

The unique properties of these granules give the glazing tremendous light diffusion, heat and sound insulation properties. The Xtralite Nanogel rooflights fit the building’s grid, allowing maximum use of natural daylight and minimising the use of artificial light. Using an intelligent lighting control system, individual lights are dimmed when daylight is available further contributing to Tesco’s goal of reducing their carbon footprint.

The Rooflight Book

Xtralite Rooflights are nearing completion on a new contractor guide—
The Rooflight Book—designed to improve and ease rooflight installation.

The guide provides invaluable advice on all aspects of fitting each of Xtralite’s ranges of modular and continuous rooflights. The Rooflight Book is also intended
to help designers in fully understanding the complete installation process when they specify. To accompany the Rooflight Book a rooflight weight calculator is available for download.
